Provide your child with an array of coloring pencils or markers and give them a wide variety of coloring books about particular superheros. Although this might not be the most academically driven activity it will provide your preschooler with plenty of creative license and hours of fun. Help them to color the correct colors onto a costume by providing them with pictures of their superhero. Give them superhero coloring books after they have seen superhero movies or read superhero comic books.
Superheros continue to capture the imagination of adults and especially children. The comic book character industry is a multi-million dollar industry, and the movie industry has made millions in recent years on comic themed films. Now more than ever children know who their favorite comic book heroes and villains are. They want to wear their costumes for Halloween and they insist that their birthday cakes bear intricate frosting drawings of their favorites. Even a young child loves to watch superhero movies and knows all of the abilities of superman or Batman.
So how can you combine your child`s love of superheros with some sort of creative activity? You don`t want your preschoolers to just sit around and watch superhero shows all day. There are activities, however, not quite limited by their age and capabilities. A great way to make something productive out of your child`s fascination with superheros is to have them color the costumes of their favorites.
If your child really enjoys coloring have them take the time color the entire scene. Most kids just color one little part of the superhero or the villain. However, with a little time they could color the entire scene and produce something to be proud of. Whenever your child does a really great color job on a superhero scene make sure to hang it up in their room.
If you want to create an interesting competition have two kids who like different superheros color their favorites. Explain that whoever does the best coloring job wins the fight between the different superheros. You can have epic battles between entire groups of superheros with a single winner or a group of winners. A prize could include a ticket to see a fun superhero movie. These types of competitions can really help to get preschoolers focused on a goal. It will help to teach them that careful, detailed work is valuable. This will also encourage your preschooler to work on keeping their coloring inside the lines.
